Shannon Mahoney had a crush on her boss Drew Kingston since high school and ten years later, she's the receptionist in his company, and she still couldn't express her affection for him. Then Drew's brother Michael stormed back into town, desperately trying to make amends and trying to preserve the family legacy, but Drew will not listen to him. Michael reluctantly enlisted Shannon's help. If Shannon can get Drew to at least hear Michael out, Michael will teach Shannon how to win Drew's heart. Initially suspicious of Michael's motives and acting to protect Drew, Shannon entered into the bargain, and slowly realized that she had wasted years of her life pining after something she can't have, never realized her own confidence as a woman... and she actually preferred to spend time with Michael instead of Drew...
It's clear that Shannon is the main character as she's the one with the most change, both change of heart and change (no longer infatuated on Drew) of the body (letting her red hair down, wearing skirts instead of pants...) Michael was seeking redemption and understood that fighting with his brother was not preserving their parent's legacy, and Drew... came out to be the most shallow one of all. Enjoyed the read overall.
