To recap: Colton, and the twins Chris and Cassie are the Robertsons, and together with their neighbor Jake Madsen, grew up together and got involved with the military. Colton flies special ops Herky birds, Chris was a F-22 pilot, Cassie is a military historian and a game consultant, and Jake is an elite Air Force Pararescue Jumper. When Chris was lost in a classified mission in Colombia, Cassie was devastated, and Jake was ashamed that he was unable to get there in time to rescue Chris. And in a moment of weakness, Jake and Cassie stepped over the line, and the friendship is no longer the same. Six months later, when Cassie found herself at the mercy of a stalker who seems to know her every move, Jake must swallow his guilt and shame, and do whatever he could to protect Cassie from whatever threat that comes, because he owe it to his dead friend Chris, and to Cassie... but what they find will devastate them both, and offer new hope...
As mentioned before, somehow Colombians shot down an F-22 with an RPG, which is IMPOSSIBLE. Also, somehow a body with no teeth left was identified as Chris' body due to "what's left of the uniform". What happened to DNA tests? Yes, I pretty much gave away the big twist, which really makes no sense any way except to give an even happier ending. The whole thing doesn't even make sense to be in the US. And these logical problems made the rest of plot implausible, such as a mafioso pretending to be a barista.
All in all, the book was just a confused mess, basically someone write a thriller without researching and fact-checking thrillers.
