GRR Reviews A Fall From Yesterday by Norah Wilson

A Fall from Yesterday is about regrets, wishes, and going forward, for love and other goals in life, as well as coming home. It included a lot of family drama in addition to the love story,

To recap... Ocean Siliker finally gave up her dream of writing the next big Broadway hit in New York and went home to sulk in her hometown of Harkness, New Brunswick (Canada). She decided to tackle the White Crow Cliff alone, in memorial of her best friend Lacey Douglas who lost her life on the same mountain six years ago. And she was... lost. Very lost. Titus Standish was tied to the family farm in Harkness. He served the community for years, including being on the local Search and Rescue, letting his younger siblings get out of the little town and make their way in the world. When Ocean's plight reached him, he set out to find her, for he was on the verge of rescuing Lacey six years when she perished, and he felt responsible... Ocean was determined to finish the climb, even as she knew she had a crush on Titus since teenage years, while Titus was determined to get her to safety, yet felt guilty of letting her friend down six years ago. Titus reluctantly agreed to help Ocean finish the climb, even as he had to battle family over selling the family farm when his father decided to move to a retirement community... and on the way, Titus and Ocean share secrets that lead to great revelations... and love.

In a way, Ocean's loyalty to her friend Lacey may have contributed to Titus' grief and regret over not saving her. However, to give any details would be spoiling the story. Once that cat was out of the bag, both are able to move on. There's plenty of character growth, and closing chapters on one's life while moving on. The story started really slow, but if you can slog through the slow parts, you'll find that the story does pick up later and you'll be moved when they managed to forgive each other... and themselves.
