GRR Reviews Love, Chocolate, and Beer: Luke & Dani by Violet Duke

Love, Chocolate, and Beer is an enemies to lovers story when the two business owners collide, in more ways than one!

Luke Bradford and Dani Dobson are at war. He's the town chocolatier for the quiet Cactus Creek. She's the brewmaster of the town pub. He's selling romance, she's against unrealistic cliches. They are fighting over Valentine's Day advertising... and perhaps, each other's heart... if they will just admit it to themselves.

A bit wordy, sit-com-y, and soap-opera-y, the author was going for over-the-top sweet with the parents and neighbors and friends all running interference to put the two mortal enemies together. IMHO, the bang (sorry, no further spoilers) at the end was almost unnecessary except prompting the final declaration (of love, of course).

Category: contemporary

Primary Plot: Over-the-top chocolate vs. beer war in a small town; can the chocolatier woo the brewmistress and turn enemies into lovers?

Tropes: enemies to lovers, small town

Overall Rating: 4/5
