GRR Reviews Saffron: A Sweet Western Historical Rom by Cindy Caldwell
Saffron is a historical western novel where one of the Archer sisters falls for the new ferrier in town, except he was being unreasonably protective of his family, including a sister who's disabled. The guy was illogical and unreasonable, and when you learned his reason for doing so, it's STILL unreasonable.
Saffron Archer, one of the sisters on Archer Ranch in Tombstone, has a good life baking and helping her family ranch. During a trip into town, she was splashed with mud by a buggy. The buggy's driver was new in town. He was Adam Benson, the new farrier in town, having moved south with his family... a sister who can't walk, and two little brothers, after the tragic death of his parents, leaving him to raise the family alone. And he vowed to protect his family... by keeping them away from pitying eyes, even by leaving town. Saffron was determined to help the sister Carol to be out and about with the new wheelchair invention brought by the new doctor in town, even though Saffron was attracted to Adam. Can Saffron get through to Adam that locking his sister away is NOT protecting his family? Or will that cost her love?
Frankly, the girl's a saint and the guy's being a moron. Even after he revealed his reasons he's still a moron. It wasn't even about being an honorable sacrifice or whatever. It just feels... really stupid.
