Secret Sister is about second chances, but in a way you may not have expected.
Nick and Cathy Chance had the perfect marriage. Cathy and Roxanne had a perfect friendship and called each other secret sisters. But Roxanne's mind was falling apart. While Roxanne and Cathy was on the way to see Dr. Seth, Roxanne's psychiatrist, they collided head-on with a truck, and Cathy was ejected and died. Roxanne's heart stopped but then was revived, and she woke up with total amnesia... And slowly recovered. As Roxanne struggled to get back into her life, she slowly realized this was not her life... She is Cathy Chance, in Roxanne's body! While the idea of still being alive gave her hope, it is also full of problems... Can she live as Roxanne? Can she convince her husband Nick that it's really her, in Roxanne's body, not just Roxanne having her delusions?
Let's discount the idea of body transfer for the moment. This is NOT Freaky Friday body-swapping, but resuming the life that you lived with regrets with a new body was... not as fun as one may expect. The revelation about the real relationship between Roxanne and Cathy came later... much later. And while it was a twist, I find it explained a lot about how... it's even possible.
This book is deep in emotions and feels somewhat angst-y at times, but the intriguing premise and twists made it worth reading if you believe in karma and miracles. I personally think the ending is a bit weak but that's just me. I sincerely believe you'd like this story, as it's a good twist on fated mate trope.
