GRR Reviews Falling Free (Southerland Security Book 1 by Evelyn Adams
Falling Free is an interesting way to open a "security series" since the novel is about rock climbing and romance, rather than bodyguards and romantic suspense. The characters are quite sympathetic but the pace was a bit uneven.
To recap, Amanda has a great job and an okay boyfriend. Everything is going to plan... Until she met Michael... by crashing into him while rock climbing. Michael is everything she does NOT want in a man... He's cocky, full of muscle, and zero finesse... and he irritated the heck out of her. Michael wasn't looking for love or even a relationship. He's too busy building his gym, but Amanda practically fell into his lap... but ran away just as quickly toward the wrong man. As they circle each other, she'll come to realize he's her ever after...
The chemistry is there. Amanda is in a "comfortable" relationship with no spark, and Michael made her realize she's holding onto something now that she realized it could be so much more, thus a pseudo-triangle. The push-pull is quite good, and the mood not too serious.
Category: Contemporary
Primary Plot: Woman found her life was stagnant when it could be so much more with the hot new alpha climber / gym owner
