GRR Reviews Her Uniform Cowboy (Harland County) by Donna Michaels
Her Uniform Cowboy has a seriously messed up guy falling for the city-slicker gal. Both will have to work through their own problems to love, and perhaps, to save each other. It was a bittersweet story with a large cast.
Brandi Wyne left her verbally abusive boyfriend and her career in a symphony orchestra in Pennsylvania to start over in a small town in Texas as an interior designer, her second love. Her thyroid disease caused her weight gain which only lead to more abuse. She swore she will never date another military man, because her ex was in the National Guard (as was she). However, the new town sheriff is seriously making her reconsider that ban. Kade Dalton, first sergeant in Texas Army National Guard, is now sheriff of Harland County... a position he didn't ask for, but won by popular demand. His heart is heavy from losing a soldier on their last deployment, and he's barely hanging onto his sanity, but he will tell everybody "I'm fine" and do his duty. The Yankee bombshell Brandi tempted not only his body, but his heart. Soon they gave into their temptation, but Kade felt Brandi deserve better, and tried to break it off, but Brandi is set on loving Kade, even if she had to save him from himself...
The author seems to have dropped enough military details to sound authentic, and I can find no fact-abuse in this book. Brandi actually sounds like a BBW, not just a normal gal with some extra pounds.
