GRR Reviews Six Days of Memories by Stacy Eaton
Six Days of Memories is an interesting "amnesia love" trope albeit a bit more polished. Basically, a suspicious guy woke up with amnesia and the lady detective fell for him even as she needs to keep in mind he's a suspect in... something.
Detective Natasha Foster is a no-nonsense kind of woman that has a mystery in her hands. Responding to a car crash, he found the driver out cold with a head injury, female passenger dead from the crash, a female body in the trunk, tied up and shot through the head, AND a bag full of money in the back seat. The driver eventually woke up... with amnesia... No memory from prior to waking up. Tasha felt a strong connection to the man, whom she named "Jay" (better than "John Doe") but he's a suspect in a murder investigation. With chief's blessing, Jay stayed at her house, and they each know they cannot pursue a relationship. He may have a family out there, maybe wife and kid(s) waiting for him. What will happen when Jay gets his memory back?
Frankly, without spoiling the story, I think the solution was a bit too... 'cavalier'. But whatever works. The emotional pull was interesting. Is who you are, without your memories, the real you?
