GRR Reviews Three Wishes (a romantic comedy) by Stephanie Bond
Three Wishes should really be filmed as the next romcom, it really is that good, and funny, and poignant, and smart, all at the same time, even as it uses the genie and three wishes schtick.
Ladden is an antique dealer in Sacramento, CA, with a secret crush on Jasmine, the ambitious interior designer, who buys a lot of stuff from him. However, Jasmine girlfriend of the current governor of California. Ladden knew his infatuation can never go anywhere. Jasmine doesn't even know he's interested. Even if she does, she's not going to fall for some junk dealer and give up being California's First Lady. Then Ladden opened his latest acquisitions... an antique rug... and an old copper lamp. By rubbing the lamp, he unwittingly unleashed a genie, who will grant him three wishes, not that he believes such malarkey! But when his two major wishes came true, he started to believe... but there are severe consequences to his wishes... As he attempts to deal with the aftermath, he is prepared to do anything to make her happy. But the genie has some other ideas...
