GRR Reviews The Trouble with Flying (Trouble Series) by Rochelle Morgan

The Trouble with Flying proves that you don't need sex or lots of angst to write an enjoyable romance. This is a light-hearted romance about knowing what you really want in life, vs. merely going along with your expectations.

Sarah doesn't talk to strangers. Aiden's terrified of flying and needs someone to talk to him to distract him. When the two meet on a long flight from UK to Dubai to South Africa, it should have been the worst combination ever, but somehow, they managed to calm each other down and get over some of each other's phobia, as they laugh, argue, and concoct stories about their fellow passengers. They even held hands (accidentally, due to turbulence). When they finally landed in Johannesburg, Sarah couldn't help but to wonder if she can have a future with Aiden... but Aiden merely kissed her and left. Sarah has a boyfriend, Matt, who was controlling and demeaning... Matt never liked her imagination or writing... Now Sarah must decide whether to go after what she truly wanted... or stay in the course mapped out for her...

Matt wasn't much of a foil / nemesis in this story, even when he did show up after lots of Matt this and Matt that. When he did turn up, he's just a paper-thin foil for Aiden, and it was easy to root for Aiden, which made it way too obvious. I'd expect a bit more nuanced "heavy" as the rest of the book was such a delight. But otherwise, it's a fine romance.
