GRR Reviews Accidental SEAL (SEAL Brotherhood Serie by Sharon Hamilton

Accidental SEAL is a contemporary romantic suspense that involved an interesting meet-cute (real estate agent vs. off-duty SEAL) that soon involved gangs, conspiracies, dirty cops, and more. And for once, merely "borderline" SEAL abuse, as these SEALs knew they were operating without sanction, and are in BIG trouble if they were caught.

Navy SEAL Kyle Lansdowne needs to find his team buddy and the best place to start was his buddy's house. He was not prepared for the woman who entered the house... Christy Nelson. She was a new real estate agent who was given the wrong address to do the open house, and her encounter with Kyle left her hot and bothered, but in a good way, even though she was scared out of her wits. Kyle went to apologize to her the next day, even as he tries to find out what happened to his team buddy. But the most he searched, the deeper the problem went. Soon we have dead people, Feds jumping over the case, and worse crawling all over the place... and a giant conspiracy... and Christy will end up as a pawn... Can Kyle and the other SEALs manage to keep the lid on, while rescuing Christy and other innocents?

The twists and turns are actually quite good. My problem is with Kyle's personality. As often happens in romance, the MMC's personality was closer to that of a hormonal teenager in the body of Adonis with a dash of ADHD, than a real special operator who was trained to remain cool under fire. And the way Christy was hot and bothered after being "manhandled" (quite literally) was just... uh... somewhat disturbing. At least there's no kink involved in this book. In the end, I decided the plot was better than 3-star rating, so I rated it 4/5, though it's actually 3.5/5.

Category: romantic suspense

Primary Plot: Off-duty SEAL looking for his SEAL buddy stumbled upon a real estate agent girl and a conspiracy involving dirty cops and Feds

Tropes: different worlds, SEAL, military, conspiracy, law enforcement, protector, woman in peril, kidnapping

Overall Rating:  4/5 (rounded up)
