GRR Reviews Fall Out: Navy SEAL contemporary roman by Zoe York

Fall Out is a contemporary romantic suspense featuring a SEAL on leave and his fellow buddy's sister. The problem is the instigating incident doesn't really make any sense in the long run.

Drew Castle lost his best friend Carter on a mission and lost his drive to succeed. He no longer cares about his career. Then his best friend Carter's little sister, Annie Martin, suddenly appeared at his door, scared out of her wits. Someone left her a message, claiming to be his dead brother. Who would want to mess with a history student and researcher? As Annie and Drew compare notes, they couldn't help but be drawn to each other, even as they realize that whatever they stumbled into has Washington politics written all over it, and a secret that had been kept for almost a decade... based on a night of indiscretion. And someone is trying to push the scandal back into the spotlight as a part of power play...

The idea of leaving creepy messages on a dead guy's sister's voicemail to provoke a scandal into going public makes absolutely no sense. While Drew and Annie figured out the puzzle, they didn't really do anything to resolve the situation. All that proved is someone OTHER than these three knew of, or suspected the secret. Add to it some inconsistency problems, and the whole thing was at best, mediocre.
