GRR Reviews Guardian Agent (Second, Expanded Editio by Dana Marton

Guardian Agent is a romantic suspense that had some competent twists, but had some disturbing scenes and some logic flow problems that relegated it into "also ran" category.

Gabe Cannon joined the security contractor outfit, and the first big job is to hunt down some rogue SEAL. But when the order came down to exterminate instead of capture, he knew something was not kosher with the command. When he finally cornered the suspect, he was surprised to find it wasn't the rogue SEAL, but his sister, Jasmine, who fought with such ferocity that he was temporarily surprised and allowed her to escape. And he was determined to find the truth. When Jasmine found her brother was wounded, and her other sister was sick, Jasmine had no choice but to approach Gabe for help, in trying to convince him that her brother was not a traitor, and the problem was his boss. However, when the conspiracy closed in, with connections all the way into Washington DC, Gabe and Jasmine will have to fight for their lives and save her family against a whole team of trained killers...

The twists are actually quite competent, but there was a bit of a... uh... restraint scene that was, shall we say, extremely disturbing, and even MORE disturbing when we found more context later. Furthermore, the state of Jasmine's party and movement speed was not well accounted for. One was wounded and left with one leg and one arm fully working. Another was almost delirious with fever. After a bit of first aid, they managed to move across the city, avoiding bad guys that would be searching for them. Oh, really? They probably would be moving at 1/3rd speed or even less! Yet somehow they made it to rendezvous right on time...

If these elements are smoothed over I can give this a higher rating.

Category: Romantic suspense

Primary Plot: New mercenary must decide whether to trust this "dangerous" woman who claimed she was merely protecting her family...
