GRR Reviews Reckless Conduct: Blue Line Book One by Brandy Ayers
Reckless Conduct is a second chance romance between a cop and the office manager under threat of a home invasion robber terrorizing the town.
Sophie Gallo lost both of her parents to disease by 23, and the only one who made her felt alive was Luke McCracken. One night, after a bit of alcohol, they did the deed, but he ran, for she's always a little sister to him. For the next three years, they barely spoke to each other, and never about that night, but she's the office manager of Middleburg PD, and he's a Sergeant on the same force. When a rash of break-ins plague the town, Luke and fellow police try to keep the citizens safe, then a 911 call shattered his calm... Sophie is in danger...
I find the fight a bit on the primitive side, for someone who had studied self-defense, and the cop basically waded in with punches, no weapons or anything. It doesn't feel real or visceral. Otherwise, it's a nice short suspense romance.
