GRR Reviews Seized by Love (Love in Bloom: The Ryde by Melissa Foster

Seized by Love is a contemporary romance that had a good "schtick" to draw you in, but the chemistry between the MMC and FMC seems a bit lacking.

To recap, Lizzie Barber runs a flower shop by day. By night, she transforms into "the Naked Baker", someone who bakes delectable treats while appearing to wear nothing but the apron (and with a wig) to the delight of viewers on the internet, so she can fund her sister's education. With no free time, Lizzie has no love, except her neighbor, Blue Ryder, who also fixes her kitchen. When Lizzie needed her kitchen renovated, Blue is there to help along, but when Lizzie's secret was revealed, then got a big break, Blue and Lizzie's relationship will be tested to its limits.

It's quite short and cute, but I don't feel much chemistry between the two. The plot seems unbalanced, with most that happened on Lizzie, with Blue just along for the ride.

Category: Contemporary

Primary Plot: Florist with a secret night job fell for the kitchen contractor friend; what will she do when she got her big break and her secret was exposed?

Tropes: disguise, forced proximity, handy man, friends to lovers, family secret

Overall Rating:  3/5
