GRR Reviews Summer Again (St. Caroline Series) by Julia Gabriel

Summer Again is a contemporary "we met again" romance that unfortunately relied on a *deus ex machina* to resolve the issue for the HEA, which is a TOTAL cheating end.

Sterling Matthew was called back to St. Caroline to help with the family Chesapeake Inn, but he had no love for the place. Now that he's here, he found the place on shaky financial footing, and he's determined to make some radical changes and fix the bottom line... then leave it behind. He did not count on Lucy Wyndham. Lucy had a crush on Sterling way back in the camp for disadvantaged kids ran by the Inn. Now that she's working in the Inn as the PR director, and Sterling is back... her crush is still strong, and they are just as incompatible as ever. When Sterling determined that the camp had to be cut, Lucy was determined to save the camp, even if she had to quit her job and lose her heart again.

The conflict was setup nicely, as Sterling needed to save the Inn, but if he did that, he can't save the camp. And Lucy loved Sterling, but she can't love him if he's cutting the camp. The deus ex machina that came out of nowhere was the solution to both of their problems, and that's rather disappointing.
