GRR Reviews The Cowboy's Rebellious Bride (The McCa by Laurie LeClair

The Cowboy's Rebellious Bride feels to be a very uneven romance, with the woman doing almost all the effort. While the gender-swapping is appreciated, overall it just didn't feel very balanced.

Cowboy Cody McCall was a champion bronc rider, but death of his grandma and grandpa's deep depression forced him to abandon his career. Now, he is determined to keep the legacy of his family ranch going. Cody and Hannah were best friends... purely platonic. Hannah Prescott is a bull breeder, hoping her bulls can make her some big bucks in the top rodeo circuits. When circumstances forced them into announcing their engagement and then marriage, they wonder why haven't they went this way... much sooner. But then Hannah realized how deep of a hole the McCall ranch is in...

Somehow, the romance just feels unbalanced, with most of the stuff done by Hannah, and Cody pretty much just run in place, going nowhere. Chemistry is fine, but it fell to Hannah to do the grand gesture, which made it seem she did all the work.
