GRR Reviews A Perfect Lie (A Katherine Bay Romance by Shirley Wine

A Perfect Lie is a romantic suspense thriller where a security agent, assisting in law enforcement, had to save a woman. The plot has no obvious holes, except one minor details.

Jace is on the trail of an international smuggler who is also fond of torturing women. At the New Zealand museum, he can't stand by to allow the criminal to capture the museum curator Ashlyn. So he grabbed her and ran. Ashlyn had no choice but to trust the man to keep her safe, but she did not know about his past... with her father. And as family secrets are exposed, Ashlyn will question everything about her life, as well as her love for Jace, even as Jace tries to find the traitor that ruined the company built up by his mentor and capture the smuggler. But the traitor may be closer than anyone suspects...

Tight thriller, with secrets and lies, and high adventure. All the plot fits, and I can see no obvious holes of truth-stretching. I think the part about "phone bleeping" as the clue was really forced. The idea that an agent can't do both captures the criminals AND save the girl was rather forced plot as well. All in all, good, but not great.
