GRR Reviews Caught By Katie (For Better Or For Worse) by Sherrie Dykes

Caught by Katie, at only 39 pages, carries a lot of plot yet a very weird structure as if the beginning is the darkest hour.

Katie Apple is having the worst day of her life. After the death of her parents, and nobody wanted to marry her in the East, she was cast out by her aunt to become a mail-order bride. On the train, she was informed that her groom had died. She had to continue. Then her stagecoach was robbed and she's left with a lame horse. Then a desperado robbed her of the horse and left her with a donkey that won't move. Then provenance brought her Jake Paxton... who's both rich and got a white knight complex... So Jake took her to his home, and his daughter fell for Katie, but when a letter brought disturbing news, will Katie stay? Would Jake want her to stay?

There really isn't much there beyond the initial darkest hour. It's not bad, but it's not that good either.
