GRR Reviews Kiss Me Quick (The Cinderella Project) by Ally Blake
Kiss Me Quick is a rom-com that had a great meet-cute for comedic effect: being a single girl on a couples romantic cruise! The rest is all fun and games.
Juliana Jones needed to get away, just as she had done all her life. She's out of a job, single, and crashing on a friend's futon. So she spent her savings on a bargain cruise in the Pacific found by her newly minted travel agent bestie. JJ found to her horror after the ship departed, that the cruise is actually a "couples over forty" romance cruise, and as the sole single woman in her twenties onboard, she's VERY VERY out of place... Until she literally ran into Kane Phillips. Kane had a career as a star player of Aussie football until multiple tragedies ended that career, and he pivoted into ship's Fitness Director. He recognized another runner in JJ, and he vowed to help her in every way. The couples onboard, some of them septuagenarians, want to help Kane and JJ together. JJ and Kane have nowhere else to run to... But should they run together?
The "dawning horror" of being on the wrong ship and stuck there for a whole week was used for great comedic effect, as are the lovely couples onboard, many of whom may need a bit of chemical help with the mood, but they definitely wanted to party! It was a good rom-com overall.
