GRR Reviews Falling Under (Walker Security) by Lisa Renee Jones

Jewel Carpenter is a police detective and daughter of the CEO of Carpenter Enterprises. Jewel has received mysterious, threatening notes from someone VERY intimate with her family history, and may even be the mysterious "butterfly killer" that was never found. Her mentor was gunned down years ago, perpetrator never found. When the threat resurfaced, her father called in Walker Security, and Jacob King was assigned to be the close escort for Jewel. Jacob is quiet, stealthy, and full of secrets, and he'll take a bullet for Jewel if need be. Their chemistry cannot be denied. When Jewel accidentally dug into something government needed hidden, Jacob will have to reach into his past to keep Jewel safe... Moreover, catch the butterfly killer at the same time...

Ah, excellent romantic suspense. The enemies to lovers thing were nicely done, even though they are not quite enemies. Moreover, the mystery onion peel was VERY nicely done as well. The bad guy made sense, and there was a pivot near the end for a Hollywood finish.

Category: Romantic suspense

Primary Plot: Good romantic suspense, excellent twist on bodyguard vs. stalker trope

Overall Rating: 5/5

NOTE: Tropes are now in the "Labels" below.
