GRR Reviews Getting Wound Up by Erin Nicholas
NOTE: This is a cross-over novel between the "Sapphire Falls" series (small town) and Love Between the Bases (sports) series.
Caitlyn wanted her brother's best friend Eli for years. Eli gave up on his baseball dreams and scholarship to stay in Sapphire Falls to take care of his family. However, the family had grown up. When her brother came up with a plan to "kidnap" Eli and force him to go to a tryout for the Kilby Catfish baseball team, Caitlyn cannot refuse, even if she had to put off her candy making for a few days and go with Eli personally. Her able assistants can handle things for a little while. // Eli knew Caitlyn was trouble with the noblest intentions. The road trip was nice, and Caitlyn as sweet as the treats she makes. However, after a fling in a Kansas motel, Eli knew he's in love. Then fate takes a turn... Eli was picked to join the team when he demonstrated the power of his wicked knuckleball... and later was called up to join the MLB in San Diego... Can he romance "the girl next door" when his own door just moved across multiple state lines?
Sweet. I've read Sapphire Falls stories, and they are charming. I haven't read the other series, but I've read that author's work, and they are good. This one is better.
Category: Contemporary
Primary Plot: Small town candy-maker have to get the man she wanted to baseball tryout... even with the chance she'll lose him if he succeeds... But he's not ready to let go...
Overall Rating: 5/5
