Jody lost her family in Texas when Union Army rampaged through town, killing her father and burned her entire ranch to the ground. She went east to joined her aunt, but with no prospects in the East, she became a mail order bride to Dave out west on his ranch. Jody has been open about her origins, but Dave is guarding a big secret... Can they be husband and wife with that secret between them?

I am not spoiling the ending, but it's not really a secret worth keeping, IMHO. Meh.
