GRR Reviews Garden of Dreams by Patricia Rice

JD was about to revolutionize e-commerce, but he has enemies that want their hands on his breakthrough. When he found out he has a son in Arizona, he dropped everything to go get out of town. After rescuing his son from an abusive step-father, they were heading back when they were rammed off the road in the middle of Kentucky and was rescued by Nina Toon, the local horticulturist. Nina wants to honor her aunt by building a botanical garden, but all her salary is barely enough to make taxes and repairs of the house, and pay for her aunt's care. Now the phone company wants to build a phone tower on her aunt's hill, and she has two boarders who is offering her 1000 a month to stay off the radar. Is this guy a criminal... or simply an eccentric rich man? Who's driving the Mercedes around town following them?

Nice complications. JD's company was under threat, there's some drama with his ex-wife, Nina eventually found out about her true parentage and what happened to her mother, and the garden became rallying point of the small town, giving it hope. The mystery at the end was wrapped up, but it took a bit of extended conclusion to finish up the Nina / JD arc. It has a good number of twists.
