Kane is a two-time bullrider champ going for a third buckle. He has fame, fortune, and plenty of adoration, esp. of the female variety. But there is one woman he can't forget... Sky, who left him four years ago. Upon arriving in Phoenix, he wasn't prepared to see Sky or her 3-year old precocious daughter, and there can be no doubt he is the father... // Sky thought she finally had it made when her sculpture was picked for a charity auction... that she can finally make a good living for herself and her daughter... Until Kane walked in to the gallery and claimed her work, her daughter... and her. How can Sky explain she did what she thought was right at the time?
Extremely angst-y at the beginning, but that's the way how "secret baby" stories go... Lots of recriminations, betrayals, misinterpretations, and mistrust. She thought he didn't want her, he thought she should be going to school and not be a rodeo wife. She thought he should be free to pursue his dreams, he thought she betrayed him... Once you get past all the angst-y parts. and they reconciled, then the story gets happier. Very good polish on an old trope.
