Lila is down on her luck. Her former best friend and her partner (and company CFO) laundered mob money through her company. Even though she was acquitted and cleared, her company is destroyed, and she's effectively blackballed when NOBODY was willing to hire her... for any position. Her only chance was to go to Sebastian, best friend since they were... very young, who never said no to her before. // Sebastian knew exactly why Lila came to him... he's rich, he's powerful, and he has NO job for Lila... when Lila started begging, he can't say no, but it'll be a job that she'll absolutely hate... be his personal assistant, sorta. NOT a secretary... he's got one of those. And let's just say the dress code... may not be quite legal (no panties? really?) Except she didn't even bat an eye. Now he's stuck with her, and while he assigns her the most mundane of jobs (go buy some office supplies), she'll snark back (buy some of the girly-est office supplies, like pink and sparkly pens and notepads). But she found that his heart is in the right place: create a special outreach program for the homeless (such as his brother), and when he needed sex, she'll provide that too...
The book was okay when first read, but the more I read, the less I like the book. The games they play with each other... Feels really infantile, not flirty. Also, how did this shift into "sex", then "love"? And the darkest hour... It's REALLY REALLY lame. Let's just say he got angry for a very stupid reason, and instead of asking for more info, he reacted out of anger, and she, being magnanimous, still saved his bacon a little while later.
