GRR Reviews Red Hot Stakes by Mia Madison

Gabby likes Luke's kids, enough for them to invite her to their birthday party. But when the twins flat out asked their father to marry her at the party, things got very very awkward. But when Gabby saved one of Luke's kids from drowning at the lake, Luke decided perhaps he can get to know Gabby a little better... Gabby is younger (by about 10 years), never married, but can cook and more. Finding Gabby to be under-employed, Luke was glad to offer her a job as a combination nanny / cook / personal assistant position. He really does need an assistant to help him research his next book. There shouldn't be any more, but Luke may be amenable to change his mind...

I like the push-pull, but I'm not sure about the kink aspects as that felt very... tacked on. And the darkest hour felt very... forced (basically, Gabby had to go to PTA meeting in Luke's place, heard some bad news, brought it home, and Luke decided to "shoot the messenger").
