GRR Reviews Second Chance Ranch by Virginia Hodgson

Charlie had to run her family ranch after her father passed away, and she needs help. When Lance applied, he seems to be a good fit. But turns out he's an orphan with a juvie record and on probation, and if he doesn't find honest work soon, he may go back to the slammer. But he can never find a job if he confessed to everything upfront... But Charlie has her own secrets... and it may tear them apart...

For a short piece (under 100 pages) there's a LOT of emotions packed in there, mostly of angst though. And one of those is "fragile ego / run away" trope. One quibble... the cover photo is that of a generic office hunk, when it should be a "ranch hand" or someone rougher, more blue collar. 4/5
