GRR Reviews The Red Door Inn by Liz Johnson

Marie ran from her life due to betrayal, not only from her attacker but also from her family. With little more than a backpack and a few dollars, she arrived at Prince Edward Island and was taken in by a kind old man trying to fulfill his dead wife's last wish: to start a bed and breakfast on the island. And she does know how to decorate... and do business. But there she met Seth, the owner's nephew... // Seth knew trouble when he saw it, and Marie is definitely trouble. She jumps when he brushed past her. And her tastes in clothes and decorations seem to be way more expensive than her wallet. Seth knew what betrayal felt like... He used to run a construction company... Until his fiancee cleaned him out and left the country, forcing him to close the company. He had to protect his uncle from Marie, worming her way into their lives. // Seth and Marie do agree on one thing: they have only two months to finish the Red Door Inn. But when one disaster after another struck, even as the other residents on the island helped, will these two wounded souls learn to trust in each other, and perhaps, find love?

Nice, very nice. Seth's reluctance to trust borders on the unreasonble, but it "makes sense" within the context of his experiences. And he eventually lets that go, for the HEA of course. Marie's problem, her father, however, was just flat evil, and a disappointment. Sure Marie grew a backbone by the end, but whatever. 4.5/5
