Mitch is a bullrider who made a cardinal mistake: not keeping his eyes on the bull. Bruised and battered, he then received even worse news: his mother is in the hospital in a coma after being trampled by steers on the family ranch, and his brother and sister wanted him home ASAP. But going home may mean giving up his bullriding career, and seeing the one person that broke his heart years ago... // Bridgette had always known that Mitch is the one she wanted, even as a teenager. But she will never hold him back from his dreams. She was the one who "broke up" with him to set him free to pursue his dreams years ago. She knew Mitch will leave after his mom got better, and she refused to believe he may want to stay.
I'm not feeling much for this one. Bridgette just comes across as a doormat through self-immolation (yes, I'm mixing metaphors). And the plot meandered a bit, as Mitch had to finish his rodeo tour, then there was something about learning a bull breeding program on a different ranch (and being setup to romance the rancher's daughter, even though she wants a fake romance so she can pick her own husband). They feel like fillers as they didn't integrate into the main plot that well. 3/5

GRR Reviews Christmas Glitter by Ann B Harrison
Dakota moved to Cherry Lake to rebuild her life after a car accident left her with a weak hand, and impossible to make her brand of custom jewelry. Her fiancee left her then. Dakota is 6 months into her 2 year man-fast. Hoping to fit into the new town quickly, she participates in the Christmas tree gala, figuring her new line of Christmas ornaments, which she can still make, should help her recover... but what about her heart? // Adam came back home to help manage the family real estate business while his father recovers from a heart attack. Adam is a major league soccer star, but his doctor told him he's one injury away from a permanent injury, and his professional life is coming to an end soon. His father's near-death did have him worry about his life's choices. Having to show Dakota around is nice, and he remembered he hadn't had a serious GF for a long time... But he's going back to soccer... right?
Didn't feel too much with this one. Everything is nice, nice, and nice. Very little angst. She's hurt but it's mostly physical (some heartache because her fiancee was a douche) and he's wondering about his life. But it just didn't feel really... urgent. It's low-fire simmer, that just didn't get very warm.

GRR Reviews Her Favorite Cowboy (The Watson Brothers) by Ann B. Harrison
Her Favorite Cowboy started with trope: fling to surprise pregnancy, but the subsequent push-pull and "too proud to beg" mentalities was what put the book into "great" category.
Denver Attorney Layla Cox met Tyson Watson in Marietta Montana while attending a friend's wedding, and they are VERY compatible... yet totally different. They had a blissful weekend, then went back to their separate lives. However, soon after, Layla realized she's pregnant... apparently, some of Ty's condoms were a bit too old. Layla dumped her career and bought a small practice in Marietta to make sure Ty can be a part of the child's life, but Layla has no expectations on Ty, esp. when she learned he had put out an ad for a mail-order bride. // Ty had a wonderful weekend with the beautiful attorney, then she left without a word, and stayed radio silent for weeks... Until she showed up in the middle of his busy rebuilding... and announced she's pregnant, but she doesn't want anything from him. Ty's surprise and shock lead him to reply in anger, which caused Layla to recoil, but both are too headstrong and control-freak to apologize for their own behavior... It may take a bit of family intervention to make the two see reason...
As I said, both are too proud to say what's on their minds, yet both obviously love each other, and their mindset actually made sense. The family intervention made it almost rom-com, but with a serious intent. All in all, while the plot is a bit of a trope, it's a fun read nonetheless.

GRR Reviews Chance for Love (The Watson Brothers) by Ann B. Harrison
Chance for Love tried to match up two unlikely yet alike people but the circumstances really make no sense for them to be matched up.
To recap, Callie is an Aussie in trouble. Her parents died, leaving her to handle the station (ranch) saddled in debt, even after liquidation. When there was a position of ranch manager open all the way in Montana USA, which also stipulated marriage for at least 12 months, she jumped at the chance to marry a Yankee cowboy sight unseen. Chance was a champion bull rider but his latest injury will lead him to retirement, as he's also tired of the limelight. He wanted to raise bulls on his ranch, and bring his brothers back together. So he put out an ad about marriage wanted to help manage his ranch... What he got was the sassy Aussie cowgirl, but he also needed to keep the marriage a secret so he can control the exposure. Except nothing ever goes as planned...
Are you confused yet? Let's name the circumstances again:
MMC: Chance is an injurred pro rodeo bullrider thinking about retirement in Montana
FMC: Callie is an Aussie woman looking for a payout to solve her family's finances (in Australia)
Why would MMC need a marriage of convenience for only 12 months? Why does he need to "keep the marriage a secret"? Why choose someone from Australia?
How can FMC put her debt "on hold" for a year? Then goes off across the ocean to get married? What would her creditors say?
These circumstances and decisions MAKE NO SENSE!!!!!!!
