GRR Reviews Saving Grace by Katie Graykowski

Grace Kelley is neither blonde nor a princess. The only thing graceful is her name, and her singing voice. But when she spotted a girl in trouble, her innate sense of justice and doing the right thing kicked in. Suddenly, she's a nanny for one precocious teen and two boys, and she may be able to make a down payment for her uncle's nursing home (he raised her). But the father... Well... workaholic may be too mild a term. //  Chord is an NFL champion team's head coach, and that's because he dedicated his life to football, and as a result, ended up with a dysfunctional family. His kids have zero discipline. His wife left him for a yoga instructor after stealing his notebook. Grace crashed into his life. and he tossed her out. But when he realized Grace was able to control his kids, he hired her. He's weary of any woman near him, but Grace broke through those walls. It's obvious that Grace was the best thing that happened to him... Until his notebook vanished... and it's clear Grace is keeping a secret...

I have a slight problem with the "I have to know he wants to marry me because he loves me, not just because we made a baby" reasoning. It's both sweet... yet horribly naive. But I'm a guy. :)  4.5/5

GRR Reviews Perfect Summer by Katie Graykowski

High school teacher Summer is having the worst day of her life. Her alarm clock failed. She's late for class and she wore whatever she picked off the floor. She had to wear ugly glasses because she didn't have time to put in contacts. She even drove over the only thing left by her grandpa: the rosebush he planted for grandma. Then when she arrived at the school, she found herself in front of a dozen cameras and even more reporters, as she was awarded (ambushed?) "teacher of the year". But unlike past winners, she didn't get a car or a vacation or even a computer for her kids. She got an NFL Quarterback, Clint (with questionable intentions) to help her mentoring her troubled kids. // Clint needs a reputation makeover. He can't compete with the young bucks much longer, and he needs to close a 100-mil endorsement deal to retire. His agent insists that this mentoring thing will cinch the deal. Clint slowly found that Summer is a great teacher, and while initially, the intent was to merely use her, he came to value Summer greatly and wanted to help her kids, esp. Marco.  But is there love between them?

Nice, very nice. Deep background without being boring info-dump. I feel the darkest hour was a bit forced (again, fragile ego, worst case assumptions), but the book is still great. 4.5/5

GRR Reviews Cold as January by Katie Graykowski

January Jenkowski had enough of men. She's pregnant. When she called the baby daddy to tell him the news, he hung up on her. So she blocked him on the phone, social media, and left word for doorman and bouncer to not admit him under any circumstances. AND her brothers who run a motorcycle club are ready to do a smackdown on him if he ever dares to show his face... // Dr. Giles Nixon was overseas attending a conference when he got the call from January, and the phone call dropped in the middle of his call, then he got called away, his partner fell sick, and he had no chance to call back before he was blocked (in so many ways). He knew January was a bit young for him, but they are good together, but he kept saying the wrong things. But he's determined to see January, even if he had to take a punch in the stomach for it...

Awwww, that's sweet... But how do you convince a woman who thought she was over you to give you another chance, that it was all a misunderstanding?
