GRR Reviews Holiday Sparks by Taryn Quinn

Darcy is a department store supervisor trying to get promoted to manager. And she hated Christmas... because it is hell for retail employees, esp. salaried people, who get to do overtime without extra pay. And given she spent most of her day surrounded by Christmas stuff she wanted a QUIET time at home. And one day was particularly hell... When an angry father, trying to return a girl's bicycle without receipt, angrily tossed the bike into the display tree and wrecked the display. Darcy came home and was greeted by a full-scale Christmas music and synchronized light display on her front lawn... put up by her tenant, Ben. // Ben has Christmas spirit to share, but when his landlord Darcy said to pull it down, he did. He was surprised next day that she needed his help to redecorate the wrecked department store Christmas tree... and now, with a proper budget, he can really razzle dazzle people with his custom design of lights and music... and that in turn, may help Darcy win a promotion. But what about their hearts?

Okay, it's cute, and funny, and good emotional touches, but I think the darkest hour was kinda lame. Basically, Darcy learned that the guy who tossed the bicycle and wrecked her display was none other than Ben's brother, and it's true, Ben's niece really did break her clavicle trying to ride that bike. And she froze him out for weeks because he didn't come clean right away. Hmmm... Uh.... That's kinda... childish. 3.5/5

GRR Reviews Pit Stop Baby by Taryn Quinn

Gage is a NASCAR driver without a team. He can't believe his mechanic brother Dare had settled down and married the girl he knocked up. AND Gage can't forget the fantastic one-night-stand he had with Rylee before she became his sister-in-law. Now that he has not much to do, it's time to visit his brother... and maybe see Rylee, and see where this takes them. But Rylee apparently hated his guts. AND his agent is trying to talk him into coming back to racing. Rylee knew that Gage knew her body like no one else, but she can't commit to someone who will be leaving the small town behind at any moment... Not even if she's pregnant (by Gage, who else?)  Can Gage convince Rylee, and the town, that he's really here to stay?

Continuing characters, small town, please see the previous books in the series if you want the full effect (i.e. how Dare wooed and married the girl he knocked up) though this is a standalone book. Gage does manage to come across as hot, alpha, and serious, with sweetness. I do have a slight problem with his "secret planned reveal" which sorta served as the darkest hour and grand gesture... But I guess that's the point for a grand gesture. :)   4.5/5

GRR Reviews Who's the Daddy by Taryn Quinn

Kelsey is the pre-school teacher in Crescent Cove, a small town. Her friends are getting married, but she knew she had to change her life, and when she let her ex bad into her bed, once, she decided enough is enough, and left town and resettled in Crescent Cove. Meeting Dare, blue collar single father, as her pizza delivery guy was... unexpected. But Dare was too busy for love. He, however, will gladly give Kelsey a night she won't forget, NSA of course. But later, they found out that his son Wes was in her class. And it seems Kelsey is pregnant. But by her ex Tommy... or by Dare?

Eh... There really was no competition. Tommy is an immature jerk while Dare is an alpha protective guy. The tension is from whether Kelsey can let her guard down to accept Dare. So in a way, the story may not be quite what you'd expect. This is not a triangle at all. 4/5

GRR Reviews Claim My Baby by Taryn Quinn

Oliver is half of the Hamilton Twins... rich, handsome, single. His brother is married, has a daughter, and another one on the way. Oliver is never getting married... he enjoyed the single life too much...  He didn't want any commitment. He'll never be as sappy as his brother. That is, until her brother's wife asked him for a favor... Watch out for Sage, her best friend, during a trip to Vegas. Oliver had always been Sage's nemesis... They've been teasing each other since... very young children. Oliver will show Sage a good time in Vegas... TOO good of a good time, it seems, since V-card was taken, and a condom malfunctioned... Good frenemies to lovers movement.
