And does she like Chef Todd?

More chick-lit than romance, it's a bit deeper than you'd expect, and I like it. 4/5

Christa has such a big commitment issue her best friends decided to mount an intervention. After all, one usually does not flee from a super-sweet and rich French guy's wedding proposal. Her friends decided on a weekly event: let Christa recount each of her boyfriends, and list the good and bad, and what she took away from each relationship. And along for the ride is Max, one of her best friends' brother, as "the token guy", and the one she was never supposed to fall for... Has Christa learned her lessons? Would Max be worth the risk? Or will her romantic failures doom everything?

Good mix of chick-lit and my best friend's brother trope, with a little bit of "everyone but you". 4.5/5

GRR Reviews Suddenly Susan by Virginia Gray

Susan is ready to seize life by the tail... If she can get a job at one of her dream companies after graduation from college. But it's a catch-22... Corporate American wants experienced employees, but you can't get experience if you can't get a job. There are those internships, but with almost no money to her name (she's already working 30-40 hours per week as a diner's night manager) she can't afford to "work for free". She could kinda follow her kinda-BF to Texas and get jobs together, but she swore she will never go back to the South...

Romance is rather minimal. Instead, it's chick-lit as she struggles with her hopes and dreams, waiting for letter (and hope it's not a bank overdraft notice instead) from a prospective employer, having her interview dreams dashed ("uh, but I didn't apply for an internship..."), while torturing her nemesis barista with complicated drink orders... It's quite funny. There's a little romance, as Susan is not really to go back South with her kinda BF, who's somewhere between BF and platonic. Yes, I know. He wants to be more, she won't let him. Love the humor, just beware it's not really romance.
