GRR Reviews Once More With Feeling by Jackie Smith

Once More with Feeling is about serendipity, about how two people can connect in the oddest circumstances... or no circumstances whatsoever. It's about the possibility of love, and the ability to recover from a loss and take a chance...

Jonas pulled into the bar named Giddiup for a quick beer before resuming his trip home and found a lone girl sitting in a corner nursing a beer, and she intrigued him, but she had steadfastly rebuffed his advances. Only after multiple trips did he learn her name was Emma-Lou, and she felt responsible for the death of her family, and she was still not yet ready to move on. However, they both loved books, and it was with that did he slowly drew her out of her shell, for he was obsessed with this girl, while he had to work through his own issues. But he knows that she was his happily hereafter if only he can make her see that...

The meetcute was somewhat refreshing, as that's how serendipity was supposed to go, as was the build-up on how he got her to open up... a little. There was a LOT of back and forth, and the build up is almost TOO slow at time, that you don't feel the ebb and flow. But for people who enjoy the slow romance of two damaged souls, this book is just about perfect. People expecting a fast read, however, will probably find the book excruciatingly slow.
