GRR Reviews Winter Thaw (Port Charlotte) by Alexis Jacobson

Winter Thaw is a novel about a girl's self-discovery... how much does she love her fiancee, and how much does she love herself?

Forced to go on a couple's ski trip alone ("I can't make it, hon.") Jenna met up with hunky Brett on the slopes, and there was some instant chemistry between the two. Brett set her mind on fire that her fiancee never did, but her engagement... can what happened on the slope, stay on the slope? Can she lie about her engagement to make out with Brett? Can she live with herself if she did let go? Or even if she didn't?

The twist was expected, and that was combined with the darkest hour. The resolution, however, was lame enough about how HEA was later achieved. That caused the -1 star.

Category: Contemporary

Primary Plot:  Girl alone on a couple's ski trip finds a man worthy of a fling... but can she do it while she's engaged?

Tropes: resort, fling to a thing, triangle, resort,

Overall Rating:  4/5 (rounded up from 3.5/5)
