Jake and Gillian had been best friends since high school. Jake had wanted to ask Gillian out, but his other best friend Logan beat him to it... and married Gillian. Now that marriage had been broken up by Logan's betrayal, Jake is all Gillian have, and Jake is perfectly willing to be Gillian's best friend, and he dare not take it any further due to Gillian's fragile state, and show any emotions that he had kept locked up for a very long time. But this time, he will no longer hesitate. This time, he will show Gillian that his heart had always been hers, if only she will reach out and take it...

At almost 400 pages, there is a lot of back and forth, and a LOT of family drama in the kinda-triangle among the three. Pace is a bit slow, but the slow-burn is good.
