GRR Reviews A Birthday in December by Karen Tomsovic

Geoffrey is a Broadway performer in Zombie Scrooge, the latest iteration of the classic tale. The run will finish after Christmas, and it'd be great except his daughter keep trying to be his matchmaker, this time, to his new neighbor, Toni, who's also acting royalty... // Toni, a young widow with a matchmaking daughter of her own, has no plans for romance, but she does need to attend a charity ball. Then her neighbor Geoffrey came to visit, and he has a plan... To get their daughters off their backs, they'll pretend to date, attend an event or two, then cite irreconcilable differences and that'd be enough. It'd be simple for both of them... Until they realized they are no longer playing lovers... but being lovers...

It's charming, but somehow reading these just feels a bit "removed". But this book, focused on one couple, feels a lot more focused than the previous volume, Heart Throbs.
