Evan had enough of his sheriff job and quit. Partly to figure out what to do, he is just fixing up his family home when he realized he bit off a bit more than he can chew. Hiring an obviously desperate girl Josie off the bus doesn't seem to be the brightest idea, but he somehow knew she can be trusted, even though she's obviously hiding something... // Josie was living a perfectly normal (boring) life when it changed in a single night... Now chased by people who killed her best friend, and wanted by police as a person of interest in the murder, she had no choice but to run and disappear, and hope nobody asks for references... or her ID. Trusting Evan was a gamble. But in order to survive, She has to trust someone... Until someone near him betrayed them both...
Now that's how you build a proper bodyguard romantic suspense without giving the stalker some super-human ninja capabilities.
