GRR reviews Don't Give Up On Me by Jodi Artzberger

Ryker, the new police detective in Otter Bay, knew he'll see Amanda sooner or later. Yes, he left her a long time ago for the military, but he didn't really have a choice at the time. She's the heiress of Cragge Automotive, after all, and he's just a kid from the wrong side of tracks, despite their high school romance. He didn't expect to be rescuing her from near-death in her office... again and again... // Amanda can't believe Ryker is back... She's STILL hurt after more than ten years. But someone is clearly after her... She was drugged and left for dead (and would have succumbed to carbon monoxide if Ryker hadn't shown up) once, then later, almost burned to death, except for Ryker's intimate knowledge of a secret entrance to her home. Who is after her? And can she ever forgive Ryker?

Let's just say the enemy is a plot straight out of a soap-opera melodrama, but the teasing clues have been dropped early that you actually *do* realize everything made perfect sense if you look back for all the clues dropped. Lots of references to Bible and God that don't quite feel contextual. 4.5/5
