GRR Review: The CEO Buys in by Nancy Herkness

The CEO Buys In by Nancy Herkness is a well-polished "alpha rich guy romances secretary" novel.

At an exclusive Bellwether Club, a tech CEO, a best-selling author, and an all-star quarterback made a wager... Whoever was first to find a woman that love him for himself and not for his money would win. CEO Nathan Trainor, was lonely and broody. The latest betrayal left him raw. He was about to treat his temporary personal assistant Chloe Russell just as bad. Chloe, however, is made of tougher stuff. She hates big biz... Such as Trainor Electronics, but it's work or starve. So when she was placed into temp personal assistant to Nathan when a flu epidemic took out a lot of the staff including the regular PA. When Nathan himself fell ill, Chloe get to see her boss at his most vulnerable, and they start to thaw toward each other. But as he tried to shower her with gifts, she kept refusing, for they still seem to not understand each other just yet. Will they get together?

While "falling sick to reveal vulnerability" seems to be a bit of a trope, the bits are nicely polished into an enjoyable story.
