GRR Review: Hold Me Until Midnight by Christina Phillips

Hold Me Until Midnight is a an enjoyable, if a bit trope-ish romp of "rich girl falls for guy from wrong side of tracks" mixed with a bit of "fake companion turned real"

Scarlett Ashford needed a big tough guy (and a date) to scare off any suitors at her father's wedding, and she hired Jackson Grayson. Except, he's way too sexy that she let him make love to her that night. And they both... wanted more. She's however, a blue blood and often let her relatives set her up for this and that and she's tired of "fortune hunters", and Jackson is definitely not a fortune hunter, but he's not a good match, and may even be opposing the family in some "redevelopment". He didn't want ANY of her money. But can this sort of love actually work?

The emotional stakes are that intense. It didn't quite get to the "darkest night of the soul" level, and the grand gesture was... lame. That's why I can only give this book an "average" rating.
