GRR Review: The Opposite of Wild by Kylie Gilmore

The Opposite of Wild by Kylie Gilmore used a cast of characters enough for several families and a sit-com type setup to hide a tale about body type issues, a grudge held (mistakenly) for years, family drama, and love between two very unlikely people.

Ryan O'Hare is a private investigator after retiring from police after a bad shooting incident. His grandma, after a car accident, had turned into a wild woman willing to take chances on everything, from taking his Harley Davidson for a spin to midnight tango lessons, and even (gasp) romance the dance instructor, 30 years her junior (!) He quickly put out an ad for a senior sitter. He never expected to the applicant would be Liz Garner, someone he knew from childhood.  Liz Garner is the proper girl in the family. She wanted to help her sister who got pregnant, so she applied for the senior sitter position, without realizing it was posted by her middle school nemesis Ryan O'Hare. Ryan is a man of Liz's dreams (he's so gorgeous) and nightmares (I can't possibly like the guy who destroyed me). Their barely civil co-existence was threatened when they were caught up in grandma's latest adventures (buying a Mustang convertible, ziplining...) Even as Liz loosened up and decided taking Ryan as a FWB is not bad, Ryan wanted more...

The plot actually had even more elements when Liz's pregnant sister delivered the baby, further adding to the drama. The problem here is there seems to be just too many characters and too many plot elements to juggle and ended up a confused mess, that didn't really add much to the romance between Ryan and Liz other than minor complications. It's an interesting family drama background, but some elements don't seem to be necessary.
