In Power Trip (Volume 1), Mandy talked her way with a false name onto Trey's trip to Switzerland, determined to bring him down as son of a horribly vindictive shark that destroyed her family. But the more Mandy learned about Trey, the more she realized perhaps she did not know the story, and Trey soon knew that she knew, and promised that he will make things right... The suspense of being undercover mixed with shifting mission makes for a great read.
In Power Play (Volume 2), Trey and Mandy, now together, had to deal with some devastating news. Trey's father was assassinated and due to Trey's brother being unstable, Trey is the prime (and circumstantial) suspect due to most to gain. And in searching for a way to clear Trey, Mandy came across evidence that made her question everything she knew about her own father, and the vendetta between their two families.
In Power Shift (Volume 3), Trey found his family legacy under threat, and a new CEO had been appointed to control the company, but there are whispers of fraud, and people are turning up dead, and Trey's twin brother is in a coma. Trey must call in reinforcements as well as rely on Mandy's expertise and love, but Mandy's mother is dying, and more people are threatened...
All three volumes managed to pump up the tension, gradually, by drip-feeding us information that cast all the previous info with a different light. Volume 2 is probably the most emotionally wrenching one due to the revelation (sorry, no spoiler here!) while volume 3 is the tensest, but volume 1 was interesting to get the ball rolling as it was the most intriguing in turning enemies into lovers.
Enjoyed the box set very much. Highly recommended.
