GRR Review Down on Love by Jayne Denker

Down on Love managed to show a heroine, Georgiana Down, that learned to fend for herself after fleeing a controlling ex.

Georgiana finally left her controlling obsessive ex to start over. To celebrate her freedom, Georgiana started the blog "Down on Love" to both document her own escape and freedom, as well as hand out advice that usually ends with "dump him". She went back to her hometown, but was quickly reminded of how meddlesome the entire town can be, or how she had a crush back in high school on Casey Bowen, and he's in town, now grown and sexy. Can Georgiana accept Casey's overtures or was she too damaged by her controlling ex called "Lucifer" in the blog?

While the town life and other hijinx was excellent, the entire novel just feels... slow, as if it's just out on a leisurely stroll. The relationship between Georgiana and Casey, as well as rest of the town was great. Even the subsequent re-encounter with Lucifer (whose real name is Thom) was written very well about how controllers just slowly start taking over your life. However, the almost glacial plot speed could use a bit of greasing.
