GRR Review Hungry Like the Wolf (SWAT Book 1) by Paige Tyler

An interesting variation on the Werewolf Genre, Hungry Like the Wolf cast them as the SWAT team of Dallas Police Department (SWAT here = Special Wolf Alpha Team, hahahaha!)

The Dallas SWAT team are the perfect cops, taking point on the toughest cases against armed men, saving hostages, children, the helpless. They are so squeaky clean that reporter Mackenzie Stone wondered if there's something wrong with them, and she decided to dig, started with the commander Gage Dixon. Gage decided to go with "keep your friends close, but enemies closer" by inviting her in, except once they got close, they got into a relationship that made Gage wonder if he had found "The One" and whether Mackenzie is willing to hurt a lot of people just to publish the truth... when bad guys are coming after them personally.

Gage is fun being the alpha of the pack and crazy in love. Mackenzie, on the other hand, flickers from journalist to lover and back making her difficult to like until the end, where the book fell into the trope of FMC in trouble and MMC must go save her. The action was pretty good.

Category: romantic suspense

Primary Plot: reporter tries to dig up dirt on a bunch of wolf-shifter cops, falls for the commander

Overall Rating:  4/5
