GRR Reviews Her Billionaire Rancher Boss by Genevieve Turner

Her Billionaire Rancher Boss is a pretty pedestrian "boss and assistant" romance with the only real standout is the FMC is Hispanic. Otherwise, the plot is pretty much cookie cutter, with a rich, handsome boss who wants the assistant and willing to woo her with the patience of a saint to wear her down.

Pilar Lopez was always appreciative of the generosity of the Merrill family. She had worked five years as Benedict Merrill's PA to make sure her brother has enough money to go to college since their parents perished in a car crash. Now that her brother is turning 18, it is time for Pilar to go her own way and make something of herself, instead of taking more Merrill handout and get away from the temptation that is her boss... rich and powerful and handsome... What she did not count on, was her boss's reaction... That Ben had always had feelings for her, and now that she's leaving, he had a different position for her in mind... in his life and in his bed. And as she indulged in what she thought was NSA sex, she starts to fall for him... for real.

There is a secondary angle about Pilar's family drama with her brother, the one she "sacrificed" for, not appreciating her efforts, as he did not want to go to college, and Pilar, too busy ignoring her brother, did not listen. But there's really not too much there except a secondary angle that added to her own stress. There's a bit of character growth, that she eventually realized that she's not living her life, and she's not listening to people, that she realized it's nice to be cared for... if she'll only let people in. But when the B-plot shows more character growth than the A-plot, there's some imbalance in the plot.  And the part about ranching? Barely touched. This is not a contemporary western.
