GRR Reviews Billionaire's Cinderella (Billionaires - Book by Claire Adams
Billionaire's Cinderella is a contemporary romance that was supposed to be opposites attract, but in this case, the FMC was being so unreasonably stubborn in not accepting any help, and the MMC was so nice and accommodating he has the patience of a saint. Their personalities became caricatures.
Kiara is having a VERY bad week. She was told that her family cottage had storm damage. Before she made it home she was rear-ended, totaling her poor truck. Then she found there was no storm damage... her twin stepsisters used the place to party and left her to clean up the mess. Then she was told that she was terminated from her law internship due to "lack of passion". Then her rich neighbors decided to hold a lawn party next to her fence line despite having 20 acres of space, complete with music and bonfire, making her impossible to sleep. Then when the bonfire ignited the tree, it toppled over the fence and burned her family cottage to the ground. And the guy she's about to take it out on... is Theodore aka "Teddy", the playboy next door, host of the party. Teddy is rich, spoiled, drive fast cars, and date rich heiresses. At least on the surface. As Teddy struggles to make things right for Kiara (and Kiara refusing everything until she was unable to), Kiara slowly learned that the public image of Teddy is actually quite different from the truth. But with Teddy matched with heiress Whitney, or lose his trust fund, is there any future between Teddy and Kiara?
Frankly, Kiara's stubbornness was so unreasonably cranky, it borders on manic. And the pressure put on Teddy to pair off with Whitney (including from Whitney herself) borders on the absurd, yet this is not a comedy, so it had to be "melodramatic". Except it was overdone and turned into satire.
