GRR Reviews No Matter What: The Billionaire Bargains by Erin Nicholas

No Matter What is a contemporary "billionaire" romance that managed to avoid the typical tropes. However, I find the lack of karma for the "bad guy" somewhat unpleasant.

Billionaire Adam Steele can buy almost anything in the world, except to make his daughter Emily walk again. An accident took away one of Emily's legs, and multiple physical therapists have quit after too much pressure and/or not enough results. Then Adam met Dr. Jaden Monroe. Jaden had been burned by the parent of one of her patients before. She fell in love with him, but when push came to shove, the rich man shoved right back... by withholding funds (to the tune of 1 million) to finish the new pediatric rehab wing at the hospital, as well as blackmailed hospital into firing her and not to be rehired for a year. Adam's offer of a million to make his daughter walk again was just enough to finish the hospital, even as Jaden slowly fell for the enigmatic Adam... But both have to deal with their feelings, not just for each other, but for their exs, and Emily...

The family drama was good. I find that one really wishes for some karma for the person that wronged Dr. Monroe. The characters are nicely rounded, and both have good sides and bad sides.
