GRR Reviews Tales of a New York Waitress by Samantha Garman
Tales of a New York Waitress was clearly inspired by a lot of real-life experience (or good research).
Sibby Goldstein got downsized from her boring office job and went home early. To her utter amaze, she caught her BF doing a guy in her bed. She kicked him out, but now she needs a new job, a new BF, and a new life, not that she can afford any of the above. She had to take a job as a waitress at an Italian restaurant, but she's actually Jewish. Between dealing with clueless and tipless customers, Sibby may actually fall for the broody but swoon-worthy manager of the place... But falling for your boss is never a good idea...
While the romance was nothing special, it's the "true tales of the waitresses" with a fine ear for dialogue that sets the book apart from the merely mediocre.
